At best it takes a mile or two to stop a freight train. And tornado warnings are at best around ten minutes. Plus, looking at the video it doesn't look like he drove through a tornado, there was just one close by.

Still, I was expecting much, much worse when I saw that tanker careening towards the locomotive!
