Steve, unfortunately it's not as simple as paying more to fill up your car. You'll pay extra for everything because freight costs will rise. The upward spiral is also inflationary and could result in a rise in interest rates as well. I do agree with your sentiments on renewable energy though. I can remember that there were prototype hydrogen fuelled vehicles back in the 60s and 70s, what happened to that research???
