The Meade LX90 has a Schmidt Cassegrain optical configuration, with a spherical primary mirror and front corrector plate supporting the secondary mirror. I am not sure why Meade designated them as LX90's, as they are traditionally 200mm aperature telescopes. I understand that Meade may be expanding the line so that we will have 250mm LX90 etc
