Since I returned from Hong Kong and Milan 2 weeks ago Perth has had miserable weather continuously and I haven't been able to test out my new astro goodies from Hong Kong. I did pick up a canon 500D and took some photos that may be of interest, at least one has an astronomy flavour.
In Milan I woke about 2:00 AM on the night 13/14 June and out of my hotel room window on the top floor was the Jupiter Moon conjunction. Moon is horribly over exposed but the Milan roofline in the foreground is mildly interesting. The one photo with my compact canon 5MP is of Hong Kong island from Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. The other 2 are the Duomo (Cathedral) in Milan with the Napoleon inspired arch entering the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II on the left of the picture. The Duomo is one of the most magnificent and large traditional places of worship anywhere and is the pride of Milan.
Hope to use the 500D for astro work when the weather allows.
