All,
Those of you who know me will recall that I lost all the astrophotographic data I had ever captured for the last 4-5 years in a hard drive failure. I had just my Rho Ophiuchus and Alnitak data saved locally. The rest died on my ex-housemate's notebook's hard drive.
I found a DVD lying around tonight which had some useable data on it. I must have made a backup at some point in the past but forgot about it.
I thought why not reprocess one of my favourite objects.
So, anyway, read and view
here.
In the conversion to sRGB for web, some of the colours have tended towards a slight salmon, especially the keyhole, and as a result, the region now has a flat appearance. In the original *.PSD file, it's vibrant, has form and is full of colour; something's gone awry in the conversion process. Never to mind. I will recapture this gem when I can make it out next time, with the 40D (modified). Having said that, I'm quite pleased with all the subtle star colours.
Comments and critique are most welcome.
Regards,
Humayun
