Whilst I respect and understand the need for some amateur astronomer to go to great lengths to preserve their night vision, and I can clearly see the benefits of eye patches, sunnies during the day, to me, this is getting a fanatical, and is starting to steer away from just, enjoying life during the day and the hobby at night. But, each to his own.
