How did I train my dog? Showed him pictures of a snake and then used two bricks together on his head. Funny though he was more scared of the bricks than the snake!

I found my Jack Russell barking his head off about three meters from a tiger snake in the back yard. I called him in and let the snake go. If the dog was stupid he would have tried to kill it. Instinct may have been in play. If it was a rat it would have been dead within the time it took to pounce and break the rats neck (about 100ms).
