I did that with one 8x50 :-)
Since it was broken (prisms in both parts) I used adequate PVC tube for only one half (so it is much lighter than it used to be) and mounted objective and eyepiece (in eyepiece I mounted reticle made of two glass fibers).
The other half I am using as a monocular.
