sling attachment to primary mirror; necessary?
Obsession scopes supplied an adhesive patch kit to stick the kevlar sling to my main 20" mirror at the point of contact. This isn't a permanent 'stick'. & I think it's just to help stop the sling sliding off the mirror edge when you're trying to get it under tension to support the mirror. Question:Am I right or does it have any function in stopping the sling (when holding the full mirror weight), from sliding to one side or other of the mirror's edge?
