My research suggests that you can delete all the updates, refer to this link

They suggest you then download the latest version of Java and install it. Download from
http://www.java.com/en/
One other thing you should try which can free up a stack of space, right click on your recycle bin, click on properties, and check the percentage being used for recycling files. If it says 10% it means 10% of your hard disk is reserved for deleted files. I suggest that you might need 2% at the most, move the slider so that it reads 2%
