Our 14" dob at the Cederberg observatory is called Bertha.
The name came from a German tourist in 1997, who on seeing the telescope for the first time said, "It looks just like our rail mounted weapon from the first world war! Big Bertha" - the name stuck!
Since then, I have built a 12" dob called Bertie and our old 7" imaging scope was called the Humble Telescope.
