I saw Star Trek last night.
very mild spoilers (but nothing you won't work out in about 2 minutes)
good points:
- Spock (sylar from heroes)- Sylar does a good angry spock when the human side breaks through
- kirk, pretty good. cocky, adventurous. looked a bit like a young shatner
- eric bana's speceship and photon torpedoes look good
- checkov
- the first 20 minutes is quite good
- refreshingly, space IS silent
bad points:
- sometimes (often!) felt I was watching the star wars movies (something from all three of the original ones)
- weak premise
- time travel. I know, a staple of Star Trek but still...
mildly bad point:
- the (known) history of the Star Trek universe has been changed allowing for more movies in the franchise
- but nothing that cannot be changed in a later movie by more time travel (see bad points)
overall- 7/10 (heaps better than wolverine)
