Saw the new Star Trek movie tonight, it was OK, but not exceptional, other than in one area: characterisation. SFX weren't as good as I was expecting, and the story was very weak. Still, was good fun, and the new warping effect is pretty cool. I noticed a Star Wars line as well "punch it".

edit: I still rate it above all the other Star Trek movies, except for First Contact, which is still my favourite.
double edit: I wish that they'd honoured the original show by saying "to boldly go where no man has gone before" - that was the *spirit* of the original show, and to change that is an insult to Gene's original vision imho.
