On the original question. Definitely dont stretch and colour balance subs before stacking. The data rejection step needs normalised (equal brightness, probably an automatic step inside DL) unadjusted subs or it will screw up. CCD stack wont even try to do data reject unless the subs are fairly similar., its trying to eliminate not-common-to-all-subs noise, adjustment just adds unequal atificial noise.
