Modded Canon 300D

For sale is my modded Canon 300D

This is the perfect next step for someome who has been imaging with an unmodded DSLR or with a DSI or something of that ilk

It works brilliantly with an ED80 and with an ED127. Because it has been spectrum enhanced by removal of the IR filter, it can be used for H alpha imaging-which is great for overcoming light pollution and moon glow problems

my results with this camera are available at my flickr album-see link below

a few examples of RGB images:

and in H alpha

For sale is the Camera-(body only, no lens) ; two batteries;battery charger; Original Canon power supply-so you need never worry about using a battery -can run off the mains all night; wired remote; key for DSLR Focus so you can download and use DSLR Focus;usb cables; software disks and manuals; also included are two memory cards-512M each. Note : I don't think drivers are available for Vista from canon, so this is an XP only device. (who knows, maybe it will work in Windows 7)

I will also throw in a Hap Griffin cable-which is supposed to allow the camera to be controlled through DSLR focus for capture, but I have never been able to get this to work properly myself. Maybe you will have better luck

what is not included is a T ring (i will throw in one but its a bit shaky and you may be better off buying a new one for 35$. You will also need a Baader UV/IR filter; a camera adapter and any extension tubes etc needed to get your scope into focus

also to remember, the original IR filter has been removed and not replaced ; this means that the camera's auto focus does not work and you cannot focus by looking through the view finder. It will not come to focus with your Canon lenses. It is for astro use only..and you will need to use DSLR focus or something similar to focus;or a bhatinov mask will of course do the trick

There is some dust on the sensor-nothing too bad, just the usual amount but flats get rid of these; I have not cleaned the sensor-except once in a way used a blower

camera is otherwise in excellent condition. Reason for selling-now I have a QHY8 I don't use this camera any more.

Looking for $400 plus postage. I will insure at my cost

Thanks for looking

Narayan
