Nice report David! I got out last night as well (transparency was unbelievable...probably due to the slightly above average winds we had last night and cruised around the usual suspects like the following:

false comet cluster (Scorpius), M6 and M7 open clusters, the glob near M7, M4 (nice bar in the middle resolved even at low power), M22 (very nicely resolved even at low mag), Ara glob (also very nicely resolved), M8 (pretty at low power...heaps of "greenish" nebulosity), M20 (the dark lanes looked surprisingly pronounced at 75x in the Orion 20mm Expanse and the UHC), M17 (swan shape easily visible....again the dark lane seperaing the body of the swan from the neck region eveident with the UHC at 75X), NGC 6302 the bug nebula (nice "flattened" fuzzy with sharp center), NGC 2438 (nice "broken ring" nebula...faint but easily visible with the UHC), M57 (nice fuzzy celestrial doughnut), M27 (apple core not visible as the whole nebaula was aglow in nebulosity with the UHC!).

I love this time of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Darren
