Jase - thanks for the comments. Colour balance sure is subjective and I notice these images look quite different on my work pc than the one at home so I can understand the range of views people have on colour. I based the colour balance in this image on how the individual RGB histograms looked when I processed it - not sure if that is the right approach.
I have some previous monochrome attempts at M83 so might try adding that data as luminance just for fun.
