Very enjoyable journey Peter - Thanks for taking us on it.
I too jumped from the crappy first scope (Tasco 4.5" reflector) to the C8 on the Vixen Super Polaris mount and know that "quantum leap" feeling!
Almost 20 years on, I hope to experience the thrill again.
