John, most often BSOD problems are caused by ram problems, either timing or faulty Ram. They can also be caused by OS corruption and failing HDD's as well as various other faults. If you can get help, your HDD can be fitted as a secondary in another machine, and copied on to that machine's HDD or an external USB drive for temporary storage.
