Do yourself a favour and get foxit reader. Its a free pdf viewer thats lightweight, wont bog down your pc or nag you to download humongous updates every week.

Geoff, I just made that horrendous mistake last night.
At 4am I wanted to read a PDF help file on the observatory PC
only to find I had no Acrobat on there .
The PC inside has all of those apps, dome PC is bare bones.
So I downloaded Adobe reader on broadband from the dome
and it was something like 50Mb, started extracting halfway through
the download. Took about an hour and a half before anything looked
like installing.
Then to find it decided to autoupdate itself, mess with your startup
registry and install all sorts of other garbageware without asking you.
Just to read a PDF!
Never again.
