I have a confession:
I was outside, 4PM. The Moon, the Moon. a crescent. Out with my 8" Celestron SCT and goto.
Little Grandson, David, visiting this evening. He turns 7 on 24 Apr.
"Hey, Pappy can you see space with that?"
"Hmm yes. (Not augmenting on that) Check out the moon in this. Little Fella."
His response, " The moons got holes Pappy".
Me, "YEAH"
Then, @#$%$#@^&& B... Clouds moving in.
I went and grabbed the Barska 20X to 60X zoom scope and did a little bird watching. He looked at birdies. He enjoyed it. Is he too young for this?
I need to find a suitable birthday gift for two boys that turn 7.
My confession is to convert both to look for aliens like I have begun. That is without watching nerdy Dr. Who stuff or Star Trek. (personally I find those programs too much in fantasy land.) The writers are simply not realistic enough or with it.
I have two young fellas turning 7 in about 3 weeks. What do they want for their birthday? They are both well advanced for their age. Barska scopes are cheap but too early.

. They have young eyes and enquiring minds.
I confess I just don't know.
