Three of the best books I've ever read are those in the
Conqueror series:
wolf of the planes,
lords of the bow and
bones of the hill by Conn Iggulden. They narrate the "epic story of the great conqueror" - Genghis Khan. I am also a fan of
Ender's Game and its sequels.
