I tried this with my Vixen GPDX German Equatorial Mount but unfortunately, the Latitude range of movement did not have enough, ahem, latitude!
I could not set the mount to 0 degrees (as if on the Equator) and when I set it to 90 degrees (as at the Poles) the balance was a bit dodgy with a heavy OTA.
