Hi Paul,

Stunning images there Paul.
Such intricate detail.

Paul, try loading your avi's into Virtual Dub to convert them to individual bmp's. Download and install Birds most excellent ninox program, load the folder with the bmp's into ninox, crop, centre & grade the bmp's. Do this for each avi that you want to use in the animation.

Having done the above, if you are using Astra Image Pro, you will find that when you go to merge your RGB files, that they are already aligned due to the centreing and crop that was done in ninox.

You will now have a set of images that are already aligned, when you put them into an animation program such as Animation Shop, which is included in Paint Shop Pro 8, they will already be centred and aligned. That said, Animation Shop is very easy to use and among other things, has provision to insert a registration mark that will appear in each frame that you can align each image with. That is how I constructed my Titan transit animation.

I only very recently discovered that Virtual Dub and ninox will work well on Vista. It would have saved me several hours in doing my Titan transit animation if I had done it this way.

Regards
Trevor
