I would like to contribute my view on this issue.
We have here a medium for communication of ideas, info, etc. I feel it is up to the individual as to how he or she wishes to put their message across. What spelling, conventions or little pictures are used contributes to how the message impacts the reader.
For example the various formats of birthday wishes that were aimed at jjj, I found quite entertainingly clever.
How else can one put such fun and good wishes across without being there in person?
I say: Go for it. Keep your spelling mistakes, its called individualism.
