Wieliczka Salt Mine

All,

Some more images from my trip last year. This time, images of the dark, yet glamorous, Wieliczka Salt Mine which is near Krakow in Poland.

The mine reaches a depth of almost 330 metres and is over 300 km long. I did a tour which only spanned 3.5 km (about 1% of the total length).

It is an amazing place, and deservedly belongs on UNESCO's World Heritage Sites list.

The shot of the chapel looks like something out of Quake. I love it.

And, yes, everything you see is made from rock salt, even the chandeliers.

Slightly higher resolution found here.

Comments and critique, welcome.

Regards,
Humayun
