I used to use a 9" grinder with diamond blade to cut pavers when I was a young bloke working as a brick paver. I have cut thousands of bricks this way but it can be very dangerous if you dont do it right and I have seen a few ankles and calf muscles badly cut when it all goes wrong. You need to have a solid mount for the brick to stop it turning sideways or moving backward and let the saw do the cutting, don't push. I also found it useful to lay all the bricks except the headers, then draw a line and cut with the bricks locked in place then place the headers afterward. This is an easy way to do it especially if you have curves to cut. But like all things, if you are not confident then dont do it as 9" grinders are sods of things.
