No I don't run AVG, I use Avast, as I said the problem appeared after doing some updates. Which ones, I haven't bothered to track down, I simply can't be bothered chasing bugs any more than is necessary nowdays.

I'm still impressed with the speed and general stability of 64 Bit Ultimate, with Photoshop it hums along very nicely, with image sizes getting larger you need all the processing power you can get. Getting apps to run hasn't been all that difficult, usually nothing more than setting to install in XP compatibility mode and running the install with Admin priviledges.
