you know, its been damn fine handing out hundreds of library cards over the part few months that have my image plastered all over the front of them... and yet a little surreal too.
for quite some time now I have been... well not really advertising but displaying some of my bird and insect photos on the library's "multiscreen" so that they come up in a sequence on the 3 large plasma TVs we use for advertising stuff in the building. I have been getting some really nice ego boosting feedback about how "beautiful they are", etc but thats about it and thats ok for me cause its all i wanted. Recently the Councils publishing officer came to see me though and said she wanted to use some of my images on council publications and also to make a DVD of local wildlife, plants, scenery and architecture to send out to all the residents of the area with the councils newsletter. while Council wont pay me for it I do get full photo credit
. so I have given her 90 to go on.
while i'd love to be paid for it I am pretty pleased that once again my photos are getting out there enmasse to the public and this time to more than just library users.
one day i'll make money from this i guess but untill then, well I'll just put up with thousands of people seeing my work
