Thankyou Trevor and Geoff, they are certainly reddies.
Merlin - i dont know, I can see some darkness near S Lepus, and a few dark lanes scattered here and there, though not particularly north of Sirius.
The lens for those was a Sigma 17-70/f 2.8. 30 sec at 2.8.ISO 1600.
Here is another from that night, and one from tonight.
I had changed white balance from shade to tungsten.
