Dark bands??
Liz,
Don't know the exposure for your photo/ image, but it looks very interesting on my screen.... there appears to be numerous dark "bands" just north of Sirius and a neat "dark feature" along an edge between YY and S Lepus.
Just checked Uranometria (map 154) and it shows this area to be devoid of any stars above 9.7mag.
Does anyone else see these dark areas??????
