When my big stereo was stolen in a break and enter in W.A. I found out that the criminal had pawned it at Cash Converters.
The police officially told me I could take the model and serial number down there and demand my stereo back.
Cash converters told me that the cops didn't know what they were talking about and that I was not allowed in their store room.
Ten minutes later, I had the police at the shop and they walked out with my stereo. I haven't trusted a pawn shop since and I refuse to buy from one.
I don't know what is worse, the theif, or the people who pay the theif.
I am not accusing pawn shops of having your particular scope in this case, but if a pawn shop does indeed have your stolen scope, don't expect them to volunteer the goods.
Baz.
