For 10" newt first of all you will need a 3rd counter weight. I used it with my 10" newt C10N and i found it just ok for observing. Many says 8" performs best on CG5 and 10" is its limit. I found that if i treid to mount my heavy DSLR on it then it would take longer to settle the vibration.
