8" (203.2mm) Celestron C8 fastar OTA. - Tube only- includes dovetail bar factory fitted.

I am reluctantly placing this excellent tube up for sale as I already own a C8 and wish to finance a telescope mount purchase. This scope has been very well cared for in a clean smoke free environment and has only seen light use (a dozen times in the 1.5 yrs I have owned it).

This OTA is compatible with the fastar and hyperstar widefield ccd lens systems converting the telescope into a fast F2 hypergraph..

This ota has excellent, clean optics. I have never opened the scope tube and suspect it is factory perfect in terms of optics. Looking with a 15-led torch test shows small amount of micro-dust on the optics (which can't been seen without a torch) and doesn't affect performance in any way - in fact I would say this tube will go for many years without need of professional cleaning/servicing.

It has always been stored securely with seals/ dust caps in place in an airtight telescope trunk (pictured).

The tube itself does have a few very small (<1mm dia) nics in the paint and also a tiny (<1mm) dent almost not visible and in no way affects the performance - mentioning for full disclosure..

In terms of performance this is one of the best samples of a C8 I have owned - Last night I was viewing m42 in orion and heaps of nebulosity and 4 tiny stars in trapezium (I have seen a-f stars of trap in this scope before)..

Scope includes 2 inch SCT visual back, GSO skylight (clear non-reflective) filter always attached before the visual back to seal the scope and keep clean from dust.

Also included is front dust-cap, 2 inch-to-1.25 inch adapter (nice brass compression ring kind), 1.25 inch dust cap and nice black original celestron 8x50 finder scope.
