Once I purchased the software, I browsed their User Forums which hosted the full spectrum of user experiences from glowing reports right down to it is buggy, support is unresponsive, etc.
I now use the back up function in Norton 360 and it appears to be working well, although the user interface is a little restricted.

Sorry to hear about your problems with Acronis. I used it for about a year and still using it now on all my machines on the network. Got the "Acronis True Image Echo Workstation" version. Scheduled it once a week in differential mode. Never had a problem. Very robust. Fiddly to get started but once their tech support got me underway it was a breeze. I also found them very responsive. Maybe you got the "bad egg" in the lot?
