Thanks for the kind welcome everyone.

I must admit there is quite a difference between the Northern and Southern hemispheres, the North is more barren, but has brighter stars, and is much easier to navigate, with better constellation markers etc. And there are some nice DSO's seen from there that unfortunately cant be seen from here.

That said, the milky way in this part of the world is stunning, and there is a wealth of objects, i have no idea where to start !

polar alignment would be good ...
