The colour balance in this later post looks better.

Lovely image.

Thanks Mike, the front filter positioning is indeed an issue and the fix is remarkably simple...

Originally I thought it was my scope being a doublet rather than a higher quality triplet, then I saw an image posted on another site using a QHY8 with a FSQ106, then I realized it must be camera related...

Any more info about where you moved the filter would be greatly appreciated.. This flaring really irks me.. I get it in 10min subs of M42, 15min subs of eta car etc.. its REEEALY annoying.

Lovely image.. especially for 90 minutes data! the 127+QHY8 is proving to be a fantastic matching...
Thanks! Maybe I'm getting the hang of this imaging stuff...
There's nothing wrong with your scope, it's the interaction between the CCD and the filter in the QHY8.
I just posted a little message about my QHY8 mod...

Loads of details be hind the HH as well. Top shot. The halo is much bigger and fainter. You can actually get rid of it totally and quite easily in PS now as it's quite manageable. Top shot mate!
Thanks Marc! That last weekend at Wiruna was a beauty hey? (Don't tell Mike)
