If you want to mount the 12" on an EQ6 purely for visual work, i'd honestly recommend against that.
I've tried using the 12" on the EQ6 for visual work, and it's very, very annoying. The eyepiece is never in the same spot for different points around the sky. It's either too high, too low, or simply unreachable altogether.
Yes rotating the tube can help a bit, but gee what a pain to have to do that constantly.
For visual work, the 12" on the Dob base is much, much more convenient and easy to use. You just lose the "goto" I guess, but if you get an argo navis then that solves that problem too.
For photography, the 12" on the EQ6 is fine - but for deep-space photography it's a whole other ball game.
