Come on guys, different stokes for different folks.
Personally I enjoyed both 'I am legend' and the modern remake of 'The Time machine'. Neither are great films, but I found them enjoyable. Then again I am a bit of a Will Smith and Guy Pierce Fan, (not to mention Samantha Mumba
) so that probably helps.
I have not read the original books they are based on. Its been a while since I saw the 1960's verison of the Time Machine, but I watched 'The Omega Man' recently, and actually much prefer 'I am legend'.
Im looking forward to the day the earth stood still remake, but I do understand the cynicism people have to remakes, since there have been some very average ones. Their usually not terrible, but they are sometimes very 'paint by numbers' efforts that dont show any real freshness or new orginality. (Im thinking of 'Flight of the Pheonix' here!)
