I've had double-sided tape (strong 3M stuff) on my FS60-C's dewshield holding cable routes for the heaters, and upon peeling them off it was fine.... so not sure what happened to yours.

Alex - my dings are only on one of my FS60-C's clamshells, one of which I bought second hand, and not the scopes - in any way. I'm a little rectal when it comes to marking these.
