I give the guernsey to Toy Story. It basically created the genre, or at least popularized it. We all know what a "Pixar movie" is because of Toy Story. A superbly crafted animated movie, one with strong, sympathetic characters, razor-sharp dialogue, crackling wit, clever plotting, allusive sub-plotting, a nod to cinematic history, irreverent pop-cultural references, enough entendres to keep the adults alert, and humour ranging from the slap-stick to the sophisticated. Truly a formula to appeal to as wide-ranging an audience as any movie is ever likely to enjoy.
It's the movie that saved Disney's bacon.
But they're all good.
