I'm sure it would have to be a collapsable/retractable/dissassemble style OTA.
Otherwise it won't be appetising to the average amatuer. My 12" is big enough but a 16" would be almost impossible to carry or transport in one peice.
A rigid Tube OTA would only cater to those with a permanent location (observatory or shed) hence reducing demand.
Mind you, I'd still like to have one. I'd carry it if I had to.
I estimate that with a 16" objective, the OTA will be a minimum of 18" diameter!!!
