Hi Alex,

Thats amazing - no darks or flat fields and heading into summer and long exposures. Obviously darks and flatfields do help but I'm astonished how little noise is evident by what you have shown. (... on the other hand so does extra images). I'm presuming the noise is also not very apparent on the full res image. How was the initial frame on deek sky stacker (since stacking helps too)?

If you are looking to cheat a little you could also use the dynamic background extraction in pixinsight LE (the free version) to help darken the background even further and help with vignetting, not that it looks too bad.

You must be very happy indeed with your new purchase! The colours look great and an amazing shot. Must say it makes a 450D look very tempting.
