I love to hear of a friend getting a fair go Eric... we need more good news stories.. I hope others are uplifted by you good fortune.
Now may I offer you some advise that I promise you really works...
Becareful with self talk..you say...I dont often win..with respect I would change that to... I always win because I deserve that result.
I am a great believer in the power of self talk.
Have you noticed a fat person says..everything I eat turns to fat... well of course it will they have told their subconscious what to expect and what to accept..
I lose weight by simply looking in the mirror and saying...my my you really are losing weight...now that is a lie sometimes but the result finally is that I move to that image I suggest to my subconscious... why this works I dont know b ut I do know that it beats any other approach to personal management.
So remebr...you always win because you deserve it.m
