He is without a doubt one of the finest optical workers anywhere in the world. Any optic that has his name on it is unquestionably as good as it gets. I have viewed through multiple scopes that Barry has made and the are astonishing. Another friend has a 6" refractor made by him and has been known to use ridiculous magnifications!
Barry taught me to figure mirrors years ago by helping me refigure a 12" f5 mirror that had been screwed up for me by another mirror maker I had paid. He came to my home regularly as we figured it on a star!! It got to the point where I was putting cerium on my thumb and running it around the mirror a couple of times to improve the figure. He is a true perfectionist.
Suffice to say that if a Barry Adcock optic is for sale, and it is the scope you want, don't even bother looking through it, it will be outstanding...
