I bought my 12" Deluxe Dob from Bintel for $799 + postage, and I am very happy with it.
If you will not move it around like you said than this is the best for you. The reason for that is: you will not have to collimate it every time you take it out.
However, if you plan to take it out to dark skys, than transporting it can be a problem. But I think that it should fit on the back seat in Ford Falcon
For the rest of the money you could buy nice eyepiece
