[Octane (Humayun)]

Yesterday was a public holiday (Family and Community Day) in Canberra. Really, it's just an excuse for a day off on Melbourne Cup Day. It also happened to be a beautiful day.

I decided to go for a drive up to Bowral as I had never been up there and a colleague of mine had a wedding there recently. I figured it'd be a picturesque town.

I looked for the nearest points of interest on my Navman and found a lookout. So, I drove up the mountain, parked the car, ate an almond croissant from the award winning patisserie on Bong Bong Street, and went for a walk with camera and tripod in stow.

After about ten minutes of walking, I came across a cliff edge jutting out. Perfect.

Being a glutton for punishment, as always, after the success of my Lake Weereewaa shot, I decided to try another HDR mosaic. This is a mosaic of 14 images, each of which was a 3-image HDR composition (AEB on the camera).

This is a horribly compressed image (12.5% of original, in size) and as a result, you will notice heavy artifacting. If anyone's interested, I can direct you to a higher resolution version. Also, I didn't bother "fixing" the image where ghosting has occurred due to movement in the branches of the trees; I was high up and there was a fair breeze.

Data: Canon EOS-350D, Canon EF 24-105mm F/4L (set to 24mm and stopped down to F/8). God, I love this lens.
