Widefields from Leyburn

I don't often post in this dark corner of the forum, however I had a bit of a dabble in some astrophotography last Friday night from our dark sky sight at Leyburn and thought I would share my beginner shots.

I had some major assistance from Westsky when it came to polar alignment and some of the software usage in post processing - so thanks again for that mate!

1) The first shot was of the Milkyway setting early in the night (taken with a Canon 400D and 10-22mm lens at f6.3 for around 5 mins - single exposure piggybacked on a standard EQ5 with drives). Ideally I would have moved the mount so the tree was more to the left but since it was aligned and tracking resonably well I wasn't game to move it

2) The other shot is the LMC taken with an unmodded 400D using the 100mm f2.8 Canon macro lens @ f3.2, and is a single 7 min exposure. Again this was piggy backed on the EQ5.
