This is my situation - I get home from work about 6, and am only able to start astronomy at about 8:30. Daylight saving just means I'm able to go for a ride between getting home and astronomy too! So I have to admit I don't mind it. I am glad I chose to structure my astronomy around automated imaging, so providing I have time to start it going, I don't need to stay awake for the rest of the time.
However even though I don't mind it, I also don't mind not having it, and it's a pain changing clocks, and there's no point in it. I'll be voting against it (again) in WA's referendum coming next year.
It was a pain down at the ASWA Astro Camp last weekend, it meant we went to bed at 2am but had to get up an hour rearlier and out of the place an hour earlier! That was annoying to loose that hour of sleep.
