I don't own a binoviewer so cannot comment whether it is suitable or not. The sales blurb from Meade/Coronado states :
With the SolarMax40 telescope it is possible to see all of the limb detail present in PST images. but with enhanced surface features. The SolarMax40 telescope comes standard with a BF5 blocking filter but a BF10 version is also available and recommended for use with imaging equipment and bino-viewers. The larger blocking filter allows users to extend the focal length without vignetting but does not enhance detail or lower the bandpass. A second SolarMax40 filter/T-Max can be purchased, along with a small adaptor plate, and these can be attached to the front in order to lower the bandpass to 0.5 angstroms. This is called ‘double stacking’ and further enhances surface detail.
